Keeping warm

It has been a cold few weeks in our part of Ontario. The temperatures have been floating between -15C and -30C excluding the windchill which can make it feel like -40 or colder. Saturday is supposed to be -40C (not including windchill). We have lots of snow as well which makes the cold almost worthwhile. I love the cleanliness of untouched white snow on the trees, driveways, roof tops and lawns. It has looked like a world made of crystal the past few mornings. The trees have been covered with sparkling ice crystals that always takes my breath away with it's beauty. I can't imagine not experiencing all of the seasons we are blessed with here in our part of the world, although on some of those bitter days the tropics look pretty inviting.


I am getting anxious for my trip to Alberta next month to welcome Amber and Darryl's 4th child and our 8th grandchild into the world. It has been very humbling to watch our little family grow so quickly. Our oldest grandchild is 5 and our youngest is 11 months. Our children have done a wonderful job of blessing us with such abundance of babies to love. We are so proud of all of them. Their homes are filled with all the joy that children bring with them when they come to this earth. It has been so wonderful to watch each of our son's become husbands and fathers. We love the amazing women they have brought into our family and have enjoyed watching them build their lives together. They make us bery proud to be their parents.


It was great to have Dean, Siobhan and Cooper home for a few days during the Christmas holidays. Cooper is such a bundle of love and fun. He kept us entertained and even surprised us with a few steps across the floor while he was here. We are now anxiously awaiting March when they will move back home. Since Dean will be finishing his schooling here by doing his practicum locally, they will be staying with us for a while. We are very excited.


We finally finished the bathroom in the basement. Our goal was to get it done before the kids get here so mission accomplished. We just have to clean out the spare room and build a storage area up in the loft of the barn and we'll be totally ready for them.

Time to warm up in front of the fire so that is all for now. Stay warm, keep smiling and stay positive in this everchanging world.
